New Jersey A4087 bans the distribution and sale of food containing animal cell-based products.

New Jersey A4087 prohibits the distribution, sale, or possession with intent to distribute or sell food products containing animal cell-based products. This includes any cultured animal tissue produced from in vitro animal cell cultures outside of the organism from which it is derived. Violators face a civil penalty of $1,000 for each violation, with each day of a continuing violation constituting a separate offense. The bill provides for enforcement through the "Penalty Enforcement Law of 1999.
