Introduced·2/12/26
Introduced Text

County agriculture development boards can acquire and lease agricultural equipment to new and beginning farmers in New Jersey.

The County Agriculture Equipment Leasing Act allows county agriculture development boards to acquire agricultural equipment for lease to new and beginning farmers. The bill authorizes boards to purchase, lease, donate, or use shared-use agreements to obtain equipment, and to establish leasing terms including payment schedules and maintenance obligations. Boards must prioritize leases that support financially vulnerable farmers, promote sustainable practices, and provide access to cost-prohibitive equipment.
