New Jersey A3910 amends the "Safe Dam Act" to require the Department of Environmental Protection to incorporate potential impacts to natural resources, such as wildlife, fish, aquatic life, habitat, plants, and historic or archeological resources, into the classification system for dam hazard potential. This classification system, which categorizes dams based on the likelihood of loss of life, property damage, and other hazards, must now also account for environmental effects. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
