Introduced Text

New Jersey A3842 provides preservation bonus credits for certain municipalities to meet affordable housing obligations.

New Jersey A3842 amends the state's affordable housing law to provide preservation bonus credits to municipalities that safeguard critical resources. These resources include drinking water, wildlife and habitat, land conservation, historical and cultural sites, and climate resilience. The Department of Community Affairs, in consultation with the Department of Environmental Protection, will designate these resources and develop formulas to award credits based on how effectively municipalities protect them.
