Establishes rebuttable presumption of pretrial detention for defendants charged with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer.

The bill amends the New Jersey Criminal Justice Reform Law to establish a rebuttable presumption of pretrial detention for defendants charged with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. The presumption can be rebutted if the defendant provides sufficient evidence. The court may order pretrial detention if it finds no amount of bail or conditions would reasonably assure the defendant's appearance in court, the safety of others, or prevent obstruction of justice. The defendant has the right to be represented by counsel and to present evidence at the detention hearing.
