Provides accidental death benefit to surviving spouse, child, or parent of a State Police recruit who dies during required pre-service training.

This bill classifies the death of a State Police recruit who dies during required pre-service training as a death in the line of duty, providing an accidental death benefit to the surviving spouse, child, or parent. The benefit paid to the surviving spouse must be at least $50,000. If there is no surviving spouse, the benefit is calculated based on the final compensation. The bill also allows for retroactive benefits if the recruit died before the bill's enactment.
