The bill amends the "Hotel and Multiple Dwelling Law" to clarify and expand landlord registration procedures. It requires landlords to provide tenants with a copy of the landlord’s certificate of registration and to display the certificate in a common area of the rental premises. The bill also mandates that certificates of registration be filed within seven days of the creation of a tenancy, and that amended certificates of registration be filed within 10 days of a change in information. Additionally, the bill changes the penalty for landlords who do not comply with registration requirements.
