New Jersey A3672 allows volunteer firefighters and emergency responders to be included in municipal eligible employee groups for small employer.
New Jersey A3672 resolves a conflict between statutes that permit municipalities to offer group health insurance benefits to volunteer firefighters and emergency responders and those regarding small employer health benefits plans. The bill clarifies that these volunteers, as well as emergency responders, may be included in the group of eligible employees in municipalities regarded as small employers, and thereby receive coverage under the same group plan. This act shall take effect immediately.
