New Jersey Child Tax Credit program benefits low-income households with children.

The New Jersey Child Tax Credit program provides a refundable gross income tax credit for each dependent child of a taxpayer whose annual income does not exceed 250 percent of the federal poverty level. The credit amount varies based on the child's age and the taxpayer's income. For younger children, the credit is $582 if the income is 100 percent or less of the federal poverty level, decreasing by $36 for each 10 percentage points above 100 percent.
