This bill establishes penalties for accepting wagers on prohibited sports events in New Jersey. Prohibited sports events include high school sports events, electronic sports, and competitive video games. The Division of Gaming Enforcement or the New Jersey Racing Commission will impose penalties on the holder of a sports wagering license or the operator of a sports pool or online sports pool that accepts wagers on a prohibited sports event. Penalties include payment of all improperly accepted wagers and a fine of between $20,000 and $100,000.
