Authorizes New Jersey county surrogates to implement electronic systems for accepting signatures on probate documents.
This bill allows the Surrogate of every county in New Jersey to establish electronic systems for accepting electronic signatures on qualifying documents in probate matters. Qualifying documents include applications for probate, authorizations to accept service of process, executor qualifications, surety bonds, renunciations, and affidavits of assets. The Supreme Court may adopt Rules of Court and the Administrative Director of the Courts may issue directives to implement this act. This bill does not apply to any will.
