New Jersey A3455 mandates that law enforcement officers, domestic crisis team members, medical professionals, counselors, and others report incidents of domestic violence to local law enforcement. These reports must include the victim's name, address, nature and extent of injuries, and any other relevant information. Failure to report such incidents knowingly is a disorderly persons offense, punishable by up to six months in jail, a fine of up to $1,000, or both. The law also provides immunity from civil or criminal liability for those reporting in good faith.
