New Jersey A341 removes the requirement that all boards of education be members of the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA). Under the bill, boards of education may choose to terminate their membership with NJSBA at any time, are not required to pay dues, and are not required to select a member as a delegate to NJSBA. Previously, all boards of education were required to be dues-paying members of NJSBA and to annually select one member to serve as a delegate. This bill makes NJSBA membership optional.
