Establishes a database of novice teachers and requires job fairs to assist school districts in filling staffing vacancies.
The bill mandates the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD), in consultation with the Department of Education (DOE), to create a database of novice teachers, defined as those with a valid certificate of eligibility but without a provisional certificate. This database will include contact information and current employment status, and novice teachers can opt out at any time. The DOLWD, in consultation with the DOE, must also host three job fairs annually, one in each of the northern, central, and southern regions of the state.
