New Jersey A3343 mandates anti-racism education for teacher certification candidates.

New Jersey A3343 requires candidates for teacher certification to complete a course or training on anti-racism in education. This course must recognize the importance of diversity and inclusion in teaching effectiveness, develop racial literacy, and encourage teachers to examine their biases. Starting from the 2022-2023 school year, all candidates who have completed an educator preparation program at a commissioner-approved provider must satisfactorily complete this course.
