Introduced Text

New Jersey A3243 requires all schools to provide free meals to all students, regardless of federal eligibility.

New Jersey A3243 requires school districts and nonpublic schools to provide free school lunches and breakfasts to all enrolled students, regardless of federal eligibility for free or reduced price meals. Students who are categorically eligible, income-eligible, or statutorily eligible for subsidized meals would continue to receive such meals through summer and emergency meal programs. The bill repeals existing laws that require schools to determine student eligibility for free or reduced price meals.
