Establishes procedure for notification to, and review by, municipalities of certain grant and loan applications for recreation and conservation lands.
This bill establishes a procedure for notifying municipalities about grant and loan applications for acquiring or developing lands for recreation and conservation purposes. The Department of Environmental Protection and county governing bodies must notify municipalities of such applications. Municipalities have 30 days to evaluate and submit their findings. The State or county considers these evaluations in their decisions and informs the municipality of their intentions. If no evaluation is received within 30 days, the State or county can proceed without further notification.
