New Jersey A3185 caps noneconomic damages in medical malpractice cases at $250,000.

New Jersey A3185 limits the amount of noneconomic damages, such as pain and suffering, that can be awarded in medical malpractice cases to $250,000. This applies to any action against a health care provider for professional negligence, including licensed professionals and health care facilities. The bill takes effect immediately for actions accruing on or after its effective date.
