Introduced·1/13/26
Introduced Text

Establishes a separate crime of victimization against a senior citizen or a person with a disability in New Jersey.

This bill creates a distinct crime of victimization against a senior citizen or a person with a disability in New Jersey. The crime is graded one degree higher than the underlying offense committed. A conviction for victimization does not merge with the conviction of the underlying offense, and separate sentences are imposed. The bill also mandates post-incarceration parole supervision for certain underlying crimes.
