Introduced Text

New Jersey A3107 would establish a rebate program for zero-emission lawn equipment purchases.

New Jersey A3107 would direct the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to create a rebate program for the purchase of zero-emission lawn equipment. The BPU would determine the funding level from the societal benefits charge and calculate rebates based on the equipment's sale price. Rebates would be 25% of the cost or a fixed amount, whichever is less, depending on the equipment's price. The BPU would also consider the environmental benefits of reducing gas-powered lawn equipment use. The program would be advertised similarly to the New Jersey Clean Energy Program.
