Establishes a pilot program for same-day voter registration on election day in 2021, 2022, and 2023 in New Jersey.
This bill establishes a pilot program to allow eligible voters to register on election day in 2021, 2022, and 2023 at designated locations in each county. Eligible voters must meet current voter eligibility criteria and complete a voter registration form. The Secretary of State, in collaboration with county officials, must submit interim reports in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and a final report by March 1, 2024. If the final report finds the pilot program successful, it will recommend enacting same-day voter registration statewide for the 2024 general election and beyond.
