This bill removes the residency requirement for certain veteran and disabled veteran-owned businesses to qualify for state contracts in New Jersey. Currently, to be certified as a veteran or disabled veteran-owned business, 51 percent of the business must be owned and controlled by a New Jersey resident who is a veteran or disabled veteran. By removing the residency requirement, the bill allows small and medium-sized veteran and disabled veteran-owned businesses with a physical location in New Jersey but owned by non-resident veterans or disabled veterans to compete for state contracts.
