This bill allows victims injured by a crime of the first or second degree and relatives of murder victims to witness parole hearings. Victims and relatives can present written or videotaped statements and testify at the hearings. The bill extends current law to include the ability to witness the entire proceedings. The parole board must notify victims or relatives when an inmate is considered for parole.
