New Jersey A3011 prohibits law enforcement from using drones for surveillance or evidence gathering.

New Jersey A3011 prohibits law enforcement entities from using drones for surveillance or evidence gathering. Exceptions are made for the forest fire service when monitoring forest fires. The bill also prohibits operating drones above 350 feet. Violation of these provisions allows for civil action in Superior Court, with potential awards for damages, attorney's fees, and other relief. The bill takes effect immediately.
