Enables imposition of local curfew to help curtail disorderly or riotous conduct.
The bill allows a mayor to declare a local emergency and impose a curfew for all or part of a municipality if there is a likely expectation of violence or property destruction due to disorderly conduct. A curfew would apply to all people within the area of the declared local emergency, enforced between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., and may continue for up to seven consecutive days unless extended. The Superintendent of State Police, in consultation with the Attorney General, must adopt guidelines for identifying and investigating plans and communications concerning disorderly conduct.
