New Jersey A2784 allows school districts to submit separate proposals for additional spending for the budget year and subsequent budget year if they.
New Jersey A2784 amends existing laws to allow school districts that move their annual school election to November to submit separate proposals for additional spending for the budget year and subsequent budget year. If voters approve a proposal for additional funds for the budget year, the district must submit the resulting budget to the commissioner within 15 days. If voters approve a separate proposal for additional funds for the subsequent budget year, the district may not increase its tax levy for that subsequent budget year by the amount of any "banked" tax levy.
