New Jersey A2738 amends the state's child endangerment law to include penalties for those who use social media to endanger children. The bill makes it a crime for anyone to knowingly act in a manner likely to be injurious to a child's physical, mental, or moral welfare via electronic communication. If the person has a legal duty for the care of the child or has assumed responsibility for the care of the child, it is a second degree crime. For all other persons, it is a crime of the third degree.
