The Police Training Cost Recovery Act requires municipal law enforcement agencies to reimburse former employers of Class Two special law enforcement officers. If a Class Two special officer resigns or refuses reappointment after serving less than 30 days and accepts another position within 120 days, the new agency must reimburse the former employer for the total training costs. If the officer resigns after serving less than two years, the new agency must reimburse half of the training costs.
