This bill allows public high school student-athletes to substitute study hall for physical education during their athletic seasons. Eligible students must be in the tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade, enrolled in at least one advanced placement course, a dual enrollment program, or other college-level course, or in need of additional academic support due to low academic performance indicators. The student's parent or guardian, the coach, and the school counselor must all provide written approval for the substitution.
