New Jersey A2466 allocates $200 million to improve unemployment insurance infrastructure technology.

New Jersey A2466 allocates $200 million to the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to improve unemployment insurance infrastructure technology. The funds are intended to address the unprecedented spike in unemployment benefit claims caused by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. If federal funds are insufficient, the money will be allocated from the "New Jersey Debt Defeasance and Prevention Fund" for capital construction projects. The department must submit an implementation plan to the Legislature within 60 days of the bill's effective date.
