New Jersey A2415 would amend the Silver Alert System to mandate that participating media outlets broadcast alerts for missing persons believed to be suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairments in the same way they do for Amber Alerts. This includes broadcasting a distinctive sound tone and the statement: “This is a Missing Person Silver Alert.” The alert must include a description of the missing person and other pertinent information.
