New Jersey A2385 eliminates the five-year residency requirement for employees of the New Jersey Racing Commission. The bill amends existing law to allow for the hiring of commission employees without the prior residency condition. The commissioners themselves are not paid salaries but are reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in their duties. The commission is also authorized to appoint an executive director of racing to manage commission activities. The bill takes effect immediately upon enactment.
