New Jersey A2287 amends existing health insurance coverage to include storage of sperm and oocytes for individuals up to age 21 when a medically necessary treatment may cause iatrogenic infertility. This applies to health maintenance organizations, hospital service corporations, health service corporations, medical service corporations, and commercial group insurers providing benefits to groups with more than 50 persons. The bill also applies to health benefits plans issued under the State Health Benefits Program and the School Employees’ Health Benefits Program.
