New Jersey A227 offers tuition-free credits for retired law enforcement officers, firefighters, and their dependents.

New Jersey A227 provides tuition-free credits for certain law enforcement officers and firefighters who retired due to service-related injuries or illnesses, as well as their spouses and dependents. Eligible retired officers and firefighters can receive up to 16 credits per semester, for a maximum of eight semesters, at public institutions of higher education or degree-granting proprietary institutions. The State will reimburse these institutions for the tuition costs not covered by federal and State student grants and scholarships.
