The New Jersey bill establishes protected leave under the "Family Leave Act" and family temporary disability leave benefits for bereavement due to the death of a child, miscarriage, stillbirth, and certain other circumstances. Eligible employees can take leave for up to 21 days for bereavement related to a child's death, miscarriage, stillbirth, or termination of a pregnancy for medical reasons. The bill also allows leave for unsuccessful adoptions and fertility treatments, including intrauterine insemination and assisted reproductive technology.
