New Jersey A2181 mandates endometriosis evaluations for pregnant and postpartum individuals diagnosed with preeclampsia.

New Jersey A2181 requires licensed physicians and health care practitioners providing perinatal care to refer pregnant or postpartum individuals diagnosed with preeclampsia and showing endometriosis symptoms for an evaluation. The obstetric care provider must discuss the evaluation results and develop a treatment plan if endometriosis is diagnosed. The Commissioner of Health will create educational materials on endometriosis in collaboration with the Endometriosis Foundation of America and other designated organizations.
