New Jersey A2175 creates a State contract set-aside program for businesses owned and operated by persons with disabilities. The act establishes a three percent set-aside for disability-owned business enterprises in state contracts. The Department of the Treasury will administer the program, which will be in addition to any other set-aside program established by law. The department will require proof of disability status for all appropriate individuals. The act defines "disability" as a physical or mental disability that substantially impairs a major life activity.
