New Jersey A2164 establishes a three-year pilot program in the six urban municipalities with the highest crime index to make grants available to non-profit organizations. These organizations will perform outreach in the community regarding the availability of compensation for crime victims provided by the Victims of Crime Compensation Office. The Department of Law and Public Safety will oversee the pilot program, which will operate in the selected municipalities.
