New Jersey A2088 directs the State Board of Education to authorize new endorsements for special education, elementary, middle school, and bilingual and bicultural education. The bill authorizes a Students with Disabilities Preschool through Grade 12 endorsement, allowing holders to teach students with disabilities in all public schools and all grade levels, excluding those who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, or hard of hearing. It also authorizes a Kindergarten through Grade 8 endorsement, permitting holders to teach students in grades K-6 and specialty subjects in grades 7-8.
