New Jersey A2082 expands the definition of minority business enterprises to include those owned by persons of Middle Eastern and North African.

New Jersey A2082 amends the definition of minority business enterprises to include businesses owned by persons of Middle Eastern and North African descent. This change allows these businesses to qualify for state certification and access financial assistance and other programs for small businesses certified as minority businesses. The bill also revises the definition for school board and local government contract set-aside purposes. This inclusion aims to address the lack of access in contracting and daily life faced by many in the MENA community.
