New Jersey A1979 establishes a three-year pilot program to mentor male teachers of color.

New Jersey A1979 establishes the "Male Teachers of Color Mentorship Pilot Program" to create mentoring relationships between male students of color in educator preparation programs and male teachers of color employed by school districts, charter schools, or renaissance school projects. The Commissioner of Education will select participating institutions and school entities, and pair 19 male students of color with 19 male teachers of color. The program includes a stipend of $5,000 per year for mentors.
