New Jersey A1978 amends existing law to require the Chief Diversity Officer in the Department of Treasury to develop and implement programs aimed at increasing the utilization of minority-owned and women-owned businesses in the state. The Chief Diversity Officer is also tasked with monitoring the state's public contracting process to gather data on the awarding of contracts to these businesses, the total value of all contracts, and the percentage of those contracts awarded to minority-owned and women-owned businesses. This act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
