The New Jersey Veterans and Military Spouses Asset Protection Act establishes protections for veterans, service members, and military spouses from creditor claims. The primary and secondary residences of these individuals are exempt from levy, execution, attachment, or forced sale for debts, judgments, or other claims. Retirement accounts, pensions, disability benefits, and veterans’ benefits are also exempt. Motor vehicles are exempt up to a fair market value of $30,000, not exceeding one vehicle per household.
