Introduced Text

New Jersey A1894 mandates employee training on service and guide dogs in public facilities.

New Jersey A1894 requires employers with staff serving the public in accommodations or facilities to train them on the rights of individuals with disabilities to use service or guide dogs. Employers can use free training from the Division on Civil Rights, the New Jersey State Bar Association, or another entity, or create their own. The Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development must produce a pamphlet detailing these rights, which employers must distribute to employees. Employees must sign a form acknowledging receipt and review of the pamphlet, which employers must retain.
