Instead, it requires a veteran to serve for at least 90 days, excluding certain types of initial training, to be eligible for benefits. The bill also allows a veteran who served fewer than 90 days or less than the entire period to which they were called to active service to be eligible if they were discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable due to a service-connected disability.
