This bill amends the law to include property owned or leased by licensed child care centers and the 500 feet surrounding such a child care center within drug free zones. It makes it a crime of the third degree to distribute, dispense, or possess with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance within this zone. The bill also specifies that a conviction under this section shall not merge with other drug-related convictions and allows for fines up to $150,000. The act takes effect immediately.
