Prohibits health insurance carriers from placing time limits on the coverage of anesthesia services before, during, or after medical or surgical procedures. Anesthesia services are defined according to the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology code for anesthesia. The prohibition applies to all carriers, including insurance companies and health service corporations. The act will take effect 90 days after enactment and apply to policies and contracts issued or renewed on or after that date.
