New Jersey A1756 mandates that the Department of Corrections, in collaboration with other state agencies, ensures inmates have the opportunity to participate in Medicaid pre-enrollment and enrollment sessions at least 60 days before their release. These sessions must include information on Medicaid benefits, the application process, and differences between managed care plans. Inmates must also receive assistance in completing a Medicaid application during an enrollment session no more than five days after the pre-enrollment session.
