New Jersey A1654 sets minimum staffing requirements for school library media specialists in public schools, depending on the school's enrollment size. For schools with less than 300 students, a half-time specialist is required; for those with 300 to 1,499 students, at least one full-time specialist is needed. Schools with 1,500 or more students must employ at least two full-time specialists. Additionally, schools with 500 or more students must employ a library clerk, with one additional clerk for every 500 students beyond the initial 500.
