New Jersey A1606 establishes a two-year pilot program for mental health care facilities to treat additional juvenile patients.

New Jersey A1606 establishes a two-year pilot program for certain mental health care facilities to treat additional juvenile patients. The Departments of Health and Human Services are to jointly establish the pilot program within 90 days of the bill's effective date. Eligible facilities must employ psychiatrists specialized in child or juvenile psychiatry, nurses trained to treat juveniles, and appropriate treatment programs. Facilities can place juvenile patients in vacant adult beds and adult patients in voluntary beds, when feasible.
